Project Grad

NAPLES — The Umbrella Factory and Tony’s Foodland in Naples will kick off fundraising for Lake Region High School’s Project Grad 2012 with a barbecue from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, during the Blues Fest. Cheeseburger, chips and a soda available for a minimum donation of $5. There will be a band and items for raffle, including a gas grill. All proceeds will benefit Project Grad 2012.

Free dinner

NORWAY — The Second Congregational Church of Norway will sponsor a free dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 17. The menu consists of hot dogs (on the grill), baked beans, pasta salad, juice, coffee and desserts by Bruce.

Bridge results

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met June 10. A seven table Howell movement was enjoyed.

Third in flight A were Marta Clements (Woodstock) and Nancy Farmer (Norway).

Finishing second in flight B were Maryann Trafton (Waterville) and Kathy Burden (Augusta), third were Bill Tedford (Casco) and Gail Brickel who also were second in flight C.

Bean supper

NORWAY — A public bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Norway Masonic Hall, 9 Temple St. Menu includes four types of homemade beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, beverages and homemade pies. All you can eat. Adults $7, children under 12 $4.

Yard sale

WATERFORD — An indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 18, on Plummer Hill Road, next to the church.

Something for everyone, including games, toys, puzzles, dishes, glass, mugs, containers and cookware. Proceeds benefit the maintenance fund.

Worship service

PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the worship service Sunday, June 19, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. Her sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be “Thoughts Before Summer.” The music will be directed by Forest Perkins, church organist, and the Sunday School will be led by Renee Wales. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.
