LISBON — Pioneer Chapter No. 11 Lisbon Falls, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall, Route 196 in Lisbon Falls. We will be honoring our Flag. Refreshments will follow the meeting. All members of the Order are invited to attend.
Spring festival
MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene will host a spring festival from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, to help raise funds needed to send kids to camp this summer.
There will be games, live entertainment, photo booth and crafts table. On Friday night there will be a chili cook off. The chili will then be sold for dinner, for small donations. The church is located at 5 Oak St. For information, call Pastor Rudy Macie at 890-0864 or Crystal at 402-4629.
Sit Down Stand Up!
TURNER — Sit Down Stand Up! comedy and music fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Leavitt Area High School. Proceeds will help Turner’s Ms. Wheelchair Maine, Monica Quimby, get to Nationals and aid in starting “Ms. Wheelchair Maine” as a nonprofit to help women with disabilities. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Heidi Conn from Turner to help her purchase accessible equipment for her home.
There will be comedy from Leavitt alum Bill Picard, classic rock music from the band Random Order, a Scentsy table, Mary Kay, a raffle and 50/50. Tickets are $20.
