Knights supper

JAY — The Knights of Columbus will hold their monthly free supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at 148 Main St. This month’s meal, sponsored by Boralex of Livermore Falls and others, will be spaghetti and meatballs, salad, garlic bread, desserts and coffee and soft drinks.

This supper has been made possible for the past 17 months by local businesses, organizations and volunteers. Businesses or organizations that want to be a friend of this event should call Bob at 897-7108 or Tom at 320-0353. Donations at the supper are accepted but not necessary.

Countryfolk

EAST DIXFIELD — The Countryfolk Music Theatre on Route 2 will have special country music guests for Sunday, June 19, Father’s Day.

The father and son traditional country duo of Randy and Travis Pinkham of Farmington will join two house bands this Sunday for an afternoon of country, bluegrass and gospel music from noon to 6 p.m. Countryfolk is always free and for families. Members of Off The Hill with award-winning singer-songwriter Paula Kaiser and Stained Grass with Forrest Blood and Friends will perform as well as other volunteer musicians.

Canned food is being collected for the local food bank and may be dropped off at Countryfolk any Sunday through the month.

Bible school

JAY — Jay Baptist Church will hold daily vacation Bible school, “Rev It Up! Full Throttle For God,” starting Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 24, from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Bible stories, puppets, choruses, games, crafts, attendance contests and refreshments for ages 3 – 17. On Friday morning, the students will have a chance to race the cars they made at craft time at a race car derby in the church parking lot, followed by a cookout. The closing program will be held that evening at 7.

CD, DVD repair

LIVERMORE — Treat Memorial Library now has equipment to clean and repair scratched DVDs and CDs. The fee for this service is $1 per disc. DVDs and CDs must be left overnight. Depending on the extent of the scratches, we cannot guarantee successful results every time.

Alumni banquet

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Area Alumni Association’s annual meeting and banquet will be held at the UMF north dining room Saturday, Aug. 13. Annual letters have been mailed. Garden Club

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the home of Matiana Glass on Stewart Avenue for their first summer evening meeting. Matiana’s flower garden and her neighbor Loraine Norton’s will be toured. Members and guests are asked to bring a bag lunch, a chair and a plant to swap. Desserts will be served by hostesses Pat Morse, Bonnie Ladd and Marion Hutchinson. Interested gardeners are invited. FMI:  645-2067.

Wabanakis

TEMPLE — The Temple Historical Society will have a program presented by Jackie Ranco on “Wabanakis of Maine” on Tuesday, June 21, at the Temple Town Hall. The regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. and the program will follow immediately.

Jackie will arrive in Indian costume and present a lively program about the culture of the four tribes of the Wabanakis of Maine. She will also entertain us with her musical instruments and singing. The public is invited, no age limit.
