Reverend retiring

NORWAY/WEST PARIS — On Sunday, June 19, the Rev. Richard Beal, minister of the Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris, will lead the last services in both churches before his retirement takes effect.

The third in a three-part service series titled “Summing Up,” the service will focus on theological reflections developed over his 30 years in the Unitarian Universalist ministry and chronicles the changes he has seen take place in both religious and secular understandings of the place of divinity and spirituality in creating a meaningful and purposeful life in the contemporary United States.

Beal has served churches in both this country and abroad and will bring experiences in both New Zealand and the Hungarian-speaking churches of Romania to bear on his subject.
