VFW meeting

Consumer rights
LEWISTON — Lewiston/Auburn Consumer Council System of Maine will host guest speaker Helen Bailey from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 22, at the B Street Community Center, 56 Birch St., Room A. Bailey will talk to mental health consumers about their rights when staying in the hospital, disability, tenant and housing rights and more. For more information, call Dot at 782-4624.
Open house
LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 27, at 8 Falcon Rd.
SeniorsPlus recently consolidated the Auburn and Lewiston offices into one location. They also redesigned public and work spaces to make them more accessible, efficient and usable. A tour will be given and light refreshments will be available.

Teen adventure
LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free day trip for ages 12-18 that have been affected by cancer. “Teen Group Adventure Trip” at Tumbledown Mountain in Weld will take place Tuesday, June 28. The trip is offered through the center’s Healing Tree children’s program and transportation will be provided.
Tumbledown Mountain is located in western Maine approximately 1.5 hours from CMMC. Tumbledown provides a variety of hiking trails for multiple levels of hikers, three open summits and the beautiful pond elevated 2,800 feet above sea level.
