Bocce begins

RUMFORD — Bocce will resume behind the Sons of Italy Hall on Thursday, June 23, at 6 p.m. Members and the public are welcome to play.

Class of 1963

BETHEL — Stephens High School class of 1963 invites classmates, friends and family to attend a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, at Rooster’s Road House.

Neighborly Seniors

DIXFIELD — Neighborly Senior Citizens met on June 15 at the Dixfield Legion with a good attendance. The meeting was called to order by President Connie Tutlis. Entertainment was by 86-year member Albert Dupuis, who played several selections on the accordion. Albert has recently returned to this area from Connecticut.

Members voted to go to Cabbage Island on Aug. 14. There is still room; anyone wishing to go is asked to call Connie at 364-4189 for further information.

The annual TRIAD Picnic will be held on June 24 with the bus leaving Dixfield at 8 a.m. and Mexico at 8:10 a.m. with a pick up in Bethel. There is still room and anyone wishing to go is asked to call Connie.

The next meeting will be on July 20 with a potluck meal of cold sandwiches and salads. Entertainment will be by the Crosbys. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Dixfield Legion and new members are welcome. FMI, call Connie at the 364-4189.

Chicken bbq

MEXICO — A chicken barbecue will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at King Hiram Masonic Lodge #57, 795 River Road.

The meal includes beans, cole slaw, rolls, coffee, punch and desserts. The cost for adults is $7. Children under 12 are $4.

Bitsy Ionta

MEXICO — Mexico Public Library will host “Gizmos and Gadgets!” with Bitsy Ionta as part of the “Terrific Tuesdays” summer program for kids at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Calvin Lyons Hall, next door to the library.

Ionta, scientist and educator, will present a hands-on program of fun with science. The program is geared for kids ages 2-14. For information, call the library at 364-3281.

SonRock Camp

DIXFIELD — A summer kids’ event called SonRock Kids Camp will be hosted at Dixfield Congregational Church from Sunday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30. At SonRock Kids Camp, kids will experience an adventure camp like no other. Children will sing songs, watch skits, create crafts, play games and learn how their lives can be transformed by God’s great love for them. SonRock Kids Camp is for children ages 3 and up and will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each evening. For more information, call 357-5477.
