Book sale
WAYNE — The Used Book Sale and gala will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 1, at the Cary Memorial Library. The gala enables 40 ticket holders early admission to shop the sale of gently used books at great prices. Tickets are $10 per person in advance, available at the library, $12 on the day of the event, and include a glass of wine, champagne or lemonade, hors d’oeuvres and homemade desserts.
The sale will continue, no admission charge, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2, and throughout the week during regular library hours. The library will be closed on Monday, July 4. There will be a large selection of fiction and nonfiction, including children’s books, cookbooks, mysteries, best sellers and more, in hardcover and paperback, as well as audio and video cassettes, DVDs and CDs.
On Saturday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., all books will be sold for $1 per bag.
The Cary Memorial Library is located at 17 Old Winthrop Road, just off Route 133. For more information, call Jane at 685-3754 or the library at 685-3612. Library hours are Mondays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays, 3 to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays, 2 to 8 p.m.; Thursdays, 3 to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 2.
Boat parade
INDUSTRY — As part of the 100th celebration, the Clearwater Lake Improvement Association will hold a boat parade at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 2. The parade forms at the “head” of the lake. Boaters are invited to dress up their boats and join the parade.
Public breakfast
OQUOSSOC — The next Rangeley community breakfast will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Gingerbread House.
