LEWISTON — Noonday concerts at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul will continue on Wednesday, July 13, with a concert by Maine organist Tom Mueller.

His 12:15 p.m. program will include works by Ibert, Wingard, Poulenc and Brahms.

A specialist in choral composition, Mueller’s works have been performed and broadcast throughout the United States. His current commissions include a film score, as well as a chamber work for cello and piano.

In 2010, he performed the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach in a series of 17 concerts, becoming one of the youngest organists to accomplish this feat.

He also plays guitar in The Muellers, a nationally known family bluegrass group, with whom he has toured. The group’s fourth album, “The Muellers,” was released in 2009.

Mueller holds a bachelor’s degree in jazz composition from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in organ from the University of Notre Dame. In August, he will begin doctoral studies in organ as a student of David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music.

Noonday concerts are free. For more information, visit www.saintspeterandpaul.us or call Scott Vaillancourt at 240-9419.
