JAY — Recently the Daughters of Isabella circle #677 from St. Rose of Lima Churchheld their June business meeting. Recitation of the Rosary was led by Chancellor Laurie Ann Castonguay. Ceremony for deceased members Shirley Toncer and Margaret Cloutier was held. Recording Secretary Louise Chandler read the minutes from the May business meeting.
A thank-you from Georgie Hersey was read thanking the Daughters for the masses made in her late husband’s name. It was mentioned about the Mock Baby Shower planned for the June social. Regent Laurie Gagnepain thanked everyone who helped with the baccalaureate. Prizes for the big raffle at the Daughters’ fall bazaar were talked about.
Next regent spoke about the awards the Daughters won this year. They won a certificate of appreciation for the scrapbook that some members did, a certificate for the membership drive and The Crown Award, which is the highest award the Daughters could win.
Regent reminded everyone that there is no business meeting or social in July or August. Past regent Jackie Castonguay spoke about why the Knights canceled the free supper for the month of June. Past regent also asked the Daughters to help with funding for the youth ministry. It was voted and passed to help the youth ministry.
The Living Rosary will be held again in October. Anyone wishing to help must speak with Father. Regent read a letter received from Maine Right to Life asking the Daughters to help them sell tickets to raise money.
