LISBON — In April, a group of 14 students from Lisbon Falls Christian Academy travelled to the Word of Life Inn in Schroon Lake, N.Y., for the annual ACE Northeast Regional Student Convention.
RSC is a weeklong competition for students that use the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum at their schools. There are 141 events to choose from; LFCA competed in music, spelling, dramatics, art, photography, woodworking, quilting, track and field, writing, chess, checkers and ping-pong.
Friday morning was the awards ceremony. LFCA came home with 16 first-place, 10 second-place, five third-place, six fourth-place, four fifth-place and seven sixth-place medals, as well as third place overall in platform (drama), second place in academics and first place in exhibits.
LFCA students earned the following awards.

Fourth place: Ronnie Partridge, male piano solo; Trevor Haggerty, checkers; Matthew McGuire, spelling; Samuel Sherburne, photography: scenic; Susanna Sherburne, photography: color still life and photography: color plants.
Fifth place: Sarah Riggs, 400 meter run; Richard Riggs and Sam Sherburne, dramatic dialogue; Sam Sherburne, shot-put; and Ronnie Partridge, art: water color.
