FARMINGTON — Donna Bucher of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a three-hour “Preserving the Harvest” workshop. There is a materials fee of $10 per person. Participants will receive a “Preserving the Harvest” food preservation packet. Participants will learn recommended methods for preserving foods, the latest and safest recipes, equipment to insure safety and how to check for properly sealed jars. Participants need to bring a potholder with them to the workshop.
The first workshop will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 27. Registration deadline is July 21.
The second session will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 28. Registration deadline is July 22.
Sessions are held at the Franklin County Cooperative Extension Office, 138 Pleasant St., Suite 1. Call 778-4650 or 1-800-287-1478 to register. Materials fee is payable by check. Contact the Franklin County Extension office seven days prior to the event if you need special accommodations to attend.
