LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating a motor vehicle burglary on Sewall Street that occurred early Thursday.

A resident woke up after she heard a noise that sounded like metal scratching, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

The woman’s husband went out and chased off a male that had no shirt on and noticed his vehicle had been damaged, he said.

The hood of the vehicle was scratched with a sharp object that left deep gouges, Steward said.

The vehicle had also been entered and a radar detector was stolen.

Sgt. Steve Allen is investigating the incident that occurred between 12:45 and 12:50 a.m.
