NORWAY — Susun Terese will read from her book, “The Shifting Fog,” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Books N Things. A book-signing and question-and-answer session will follow.
The book title refers to a mental fog, known as “spiritual unconsciousness,” and to the shift in consciousness taking place throughout the world today, Terese said.
The vast majority of people are so absorbed in their thoughts and feelings, and the material aspects of the world, that they are unable to access their spiritual dimension, the author said.
It is possible, she said, for every human being to wake up from this fog and to experience a state of enlightenment.
Terese, a graduate of Bates College and Oxford Hills High School, said she underwent a spiritual awakening between 2003 to 2006, which led her to write “The Shifting Fog.”
