JAY — Police have closed Route 4 in North Jay while reconstructing the scene of an accident where a New Hampshire man’s motorcycle was rear-ended by a van driven by a Sumner man on Monday afternoon.
The motorcyclist had either slowed down or stopped north of the intersection of routes 4 and 17 when he was rear-ended by a van, according to Jay Police Chief Larry White, Sr.
According to dispatch records, the call to report the crash came in at 2:24 p.m.
The motorcyclist was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment, White said.
