BETHEL — Musicians of all ages in the Mahoosuc Community Band will give a concert at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, in Bingham Auditorium at Gould Academy.
Youngsters from Bethel and surrounding towns have been playing alongside seniors throughout the summer, under the direction of Patricia Boyle-Wight.
The band will play music ranging from “Pixar Movie Magic,” themes from Pixar animated movies; to “Phantom of the Opera,” featuring French horns; to “Hawaii 5 0,” a fast-paced piece featuring the percussion section; to John Philip Sousa’s “Hands across the Sea.”
Refreshments will be served after the concert. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to help provide music for the band.
Anyone is welcome to play with the band at rehearsals every Monday, from 7 to 8:45 p.m., in the basement of West Parish Congregational Church. Rehearsals for the fall will start on Sept. 12.
For more information, contact Boyle-Wight at 824-8453 or pboylewight@ants.edu; or band president Kathleen DeVore at 875-2364 or katdev@aol.com.
