LOVELL — The five-piece Caribbean steel drum band Mango Groove will bring its uplifting sounds to the Brick Church for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Aug. 25.
The dance and party band plays authentic calypso and soca music from Trinidad and Tobago, as well as reggae, motown and jazz. Band members also perform Afro-Caribbean dance and enjoy sharing the history of the steel drum with audiences.
Mango Groove, directed by Erick Rollnick, who plays lead or soprano “pan,” is based in Conway. N.H. Other band members are Candace Maher, Janet Kucera, Cathy Shea and percussionist Eric Donnelly.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12. They will be available at the door. The Brick Church is on Christian Hill Road. Refreshments will be served at intermission. For more information, call 925-2792 or visit www.lovellbrickchurch.org.
