LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Lions Club held three very successful fundraising events this spring. All money raised by fundraising, donations and contributions from the community are directed back to support community programs. Due to fundraising, area residents have been given the gift of sight as multiple pairs of glasses have been funded through the JLF Sight Program.

On History Night, May 27, the club partnered with the American Legion to hold a fundraiser spaghetti supper and 50/50 raffle. Winner of the 50/50 raffle was Doreen Bellmore of Jay.

A Ca$h raffle drawing was held July 3. Winners were Ann Atherton of Turner, first place, $250; Pierre Castonguay of Livermore, second place, $150; and Jim Place of Turner, third place, $100.

During the Apple Pumpkin festival the last week of September, the Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast at the American Legion. They will also hold the annual lawn and tag sale; item donations are accepted and appreciated. This year JLF Lions will also have a block on the recreation field which will hold special surprises for area children.
