LEWISTON — If you find yourself wondering whether the weather is going to hold back a balloon launch at the festival this weekend, you can get the answer without leaving the comfort of your home.
If you can’t make it down to Simard-Payne Memorial Park, you can watch the balloons rise and float away from your living room couch. Friends and crew for balloon pilot Jim Rodrigue of Lewiston sit on the bag encasing the envelope of “Tailwinds,” the hot air balloon that Rodrigue rolled out at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston on Thursday evening. Rodrigue attempted to take a Lewiston family of three for their first balloon ride, but high winds and unstable weather forced him and other pilots to cancel their flights.
