FARMINGTON — One woman was injured and two vehicles were destroyed after a three-car accident on Route 133 near the Sandy River nursing home on Friday, police officer Darin Gilbert said.

Alfred Tardif, 50, of Jay was driving toward Farmington and failed to notice vehicles stopped in front of him, Gilbert said.

Tardif’s 2009 Suzuki SUV hit the back of a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Vanessa Clark, 23, of West Farmington, Gilbert said.

Clark’s vehicle then struck a 2003 Ford pickup truck driven by Richard Wells, 82, of Livermore, he said.

Tardif’s passenger, Patricia Hisler, 74, complained of neck and back pain and was taken by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance to nearby Franklin Memorial Hospital, Gilbert said.

Hisler was treated there before she was transferred to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston Friday afternoon, FMH spokeswoman Jill Gray said.

Both Tardif’s and Clark’s vehicles received extensive damage while Wells’ truck received minor damage, Gilbert said. Hisler was the only person injured in the accident.

Tardif was issued a summons for imprudent speed, he said.

Officer Ted Neil and police Chief Jack Peck and Farmington firefighters assisted at the scene.
