MEXICO — The Gorizia Lodge #467 of the Sons of Italy will resume its monthly meeting schedule beginning Sunday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m. Meetings are held the fourth Sunday of every month. All members are encouraged to attend.
Quilt course
MEXICO — Region 9 Adult Education will hold a class to make a medallion style quilt beginning Thursday, Sept 1. Classes will be held from 6 to 8:45 p.m. and will run for 10 sessions, with another 10 in the spring.
The quilt will have a center medallion with a series of borders surrounding it. Participants can make their quilt as simple or as complex as they like. There will be a beginner level pattern and one for the more advanced quilter.
The cost for the fall class is $41. Call Sally Yarnish at 364-2012 to enroll before Aug. 30.
Harvest supper
RUMFORD — A Harvest Supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Blazing Star Lodge on Route 232 in Rumford Corner.
Menu will be potato, corned beef, ham, cabbage, beets, carrots, turnip, bread, coffee, punch and pie, served family-style. Adults $10, under 12 $5. Take outs available.
A 50/50 raffle will be held. Stair chair on back stairs. A second seating will be at 6 p.m. if needed. For more information, contact Joe Roy at 364-4715 or concordpond@roadrunner.com.
Adult ed
MEXICO — Region 9 Adult Education will hold enrollment for their academic classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 6, 7 and 8 at 9 a.m.
Students may obtain a GED or high school diploma. Region 9 also enroll adults who are interested in upgrading their skills to attend college. The adult education staff helps students understand math, writing and reading. Classes and open lab times offer a flexible schedule.

Christmas show
RUMFORD — Connie Porter will choreograph and direct two dance numbers for the RAAPA Christmas Show which will be presented on Dec. 3 and 4. There will be a tap dance to “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and a ballet/jazz dance to “Carol of the Bells.”
Rehearsals are held at the Mountain Valley Middle School in Mexico between 5:30 and 7 p.m. on Wednesdays starting Sept. 7. Prior dance instruction is necessary and anyone interested should call Connie at 562-8232.
