- Kerry Merrill of Worthly Pond Road wades through 1 to 2 feet of water by his home. Tropical Storm Irene brought intense rain to the area Sunday causing some roads to be impassable. Merrill said he was concerned for power outages. Sump pumps in his basement were barely able to keep up early Sunday before the eye of the storm had even reached Maine.
