- The Downeasters Barbershop Chorus, based in Yarmouth, will perform at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the gazebo on the green in Turner Center. The ensemble has entertained audiences for more than 62 years with its own brand of music written in barbershop-style. The Downeasters compete annually and in 2009 won the Northeast District competition. They hold weekly rehearsals at the Harrison Middle School and members of the group have formed several quartets. If it rains, the concert will be moved into the church, across the street. Admission is free.
