Homemakers meet

INDUSTRY — Clearwater Homemakers Extension will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Shorey Chapel.

Ham supper

JAY — A free public ham supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 148 Main St.

The meal includes twice baked potato, mixed vegetables, salads, rolls, drinks and desserts. Doors open at noon for games and socialization.

Jay-LF Seniors

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors will have their first meeting of the year at noon Monday, Sept. 12, with a casserole meal. Any resident of the area who is 55 or over is welcome to join the group. The regular meetings are held at Murray Hall every Monday at 1 p.m. When a meal is served the group meets at noon.

All attending are urged to bring something for all to enjoy for the Sept. 12 meeting, such as a casserole, salad, pickles, chips, vegetables, cheese, crackers etc.

The dessert will be donated by Nancy Couture. Following the meal cards and games will be enjoyed.

FAYETTE — The Underwood Memorial Library will have a Special Story Hour at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the library, 2006 Main St. Children’s author H. Louise Bernstone will read her three books, “The Domed Bug,” “Adventures Beyond The Back Yard” and “The Bakery Caper.” Bernstone will be visiting from Isle Au Haut.

Church music

FARMINGTON — The combined church communities of Franklin County will hold a “More Than Music” workshop for church musicians, singers, leaders and techies at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16. Hosted by Living Waters Assembly of God, 547 Wilton Rd.

Instruction will be provided by internationally renowned musician and teacher Grant Norsworthy, www.grantnorsworthy.com.

Tennis tourny

FARMINGTON — The annual Gail Saviello Memorial Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, starting at 9 a.m. with final matches played by mid-afternoon. Rain date is Sept. 18 starting at 11 a.m. Matches will be played at Academy Hill courts in Wilton and several surrounding courts.

Individuals sign up on Sept. 17. No preregistration necessary. Each person will have several different doubles partners during the day.

The purpose of the tournament is to raise money to benefit the upkeep of the Academy Hill clay courts. Donations are requested: Adults $15 and students 18 and under $5. Lunch and snacks will be provided by the Tyngtown Club of Wilton.

SALEM — The Country Chickadees will return to the Salem Community Building at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

Ferland benefit

FAYETTE — A craft fair to benefit Megan Fearless Ferland will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Fayette Central School, Route 17.

The fair will feature Scentsy, Avon, Mary Kay, baked goods and more. There will also be raffles and wristbands for sale. Donations for the family are greatly appreciated.
