Historical officers
WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Historical Society recently elected the following officers.
President Olive Risko, vice-president Annella Burnham, secretary Vicki May Billings, treasurer Paul Billings, trustee Mary Billings, chairman of the board of trustees Paul Billings, vice chairman Olive Risko and curator Larry Billings. Earlier in the day Paul Billings entertained visitors at the Society Museum on Main Street in Bryant Pond.
Clothing Center
HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 and Oct. 15. The Clothing Center is located on Church Street, directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.
Supper, ‘Hee Haw’
OXFORD — A meatloaf supper followed by a “Hee Haw time” will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Grace Fellowship Church on Poplar Street.
Cost for adults is $7, 12 and under $3.50. The menu will consist of meatloaf with gravy, potato, squash, string beans, rolls, biscuits, ice cream punch, coffee and homemade pies. For more information call Pastor Waterhouse at 674-2733 or Pastor Parsons at 539-9064.
Socrates Cafe
WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held at the Waterford Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome.
The topic for the October meeting is “Capitalism and Success.” The moderator will be Therese Johnson.

Foliage 5K
WATERFORD — The Waterford Fall Foliage 5K Road Race and 1Mile Fun Run and Chili Cook-Off will take place Sunday, Oct. 9.
The 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 11:30 a.m. Registration fee is $5. The 5K Road Race and 5K Fitness Walk will begin at noon. Preregistration is $15; $18 on race day. Long sleeve T-shirts are provided to the first 100 registrants. Registration forms are available in local stores or online at active.com.
The Chili Cook-Off will take place during and after the race. Individuals, groups and restaurants are welcome to enter.
Roads leading to the race will close 11:20 a.m. Parking will be available nearby.
