LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met Sept. 19 with 27 members and four guests present. Pat Laverdiere became a member after three meetings and the guests present were Gail Laverdiere, Janice Wright, Muriel Labbe and Donna Cook.
Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for the departed members and for all the men and woman serving in the armed forces.
On the sick list is Marie Gagnon. She was hospitalized last week and is home recuperating. A thank you card was received from Georgia Hersey.
Shirley reported the results of her meeting with LaFleur’s and the Chuck Wagon in regard to the Senior Plus Vouchers. LaFleur’s would prefer that vouchers not be used on Friday and Saturday nights. Chuck Wagon will check with Senior Plus if instead of only milk served with the meals that coffee or tea can be served. They will let her know. The vouchers at Youly’s can be used for breakfast until 11 a.m. at this time.
Shirley still has pamphlets for Medicare D and for Elderly Legal Services.
A successful Chinese auction was held following the meeting. The 50/50 was won by Georgia Hersey. Sept. 26 will be a regular meeting with games and cards at 1 p.m. at Murray Hall.
Refreshments brought by Nancy and Pat Couture were served following the meeting.
Shirley Couture and Fernande Doiron will supply the refreshments next week.
