The Western Maine Art Group is exhibiting a traveling show of works by 48 elite Maine painters, musicians and furniture makers. “This show has it all — contemporary, abstract and realistic art. And, in terms of music, we’ve got jazz, gospel, folk, new age and contemporary,” said Con Fullam, initiator of the artistic collaboration. Participating artists include Dewitt Hardy, Monica Kelly, Barbara Sullivan, Robert Shatterly, Frederick Lynch, Daniel Minter and Dahlov Ipcar, whose painting, above, is titled “BlueXIV.” Furniture makers include Thomas Moser, Kevin Rodel and Peter Turner. Aso featured will be WMAG artist Julieanne Reed and poet Kenneth Frost; and a chair created for the event. A reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. The exhibit will be on view, free of charge, through Oct. 31 at Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center, 480 Main St. Gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
