The quilters are proud to be working closely with the Phillips Volunteer Fire Department, providing quilts to victims of home fires in the Sandy River Valley area. Last year The Narrow Gauge Quilters donated several quilts, giving comfort and care from one neighbor to another in a time of need.
This year’s show is in October, which is Fire Prevention Month. Phillips Fire Dept. will be on hand to give tours of their fire engine for kids of all ages and to talk about fire safety.
In addition to the array of quilts, from vintage to new, The Narrow Gauge Quilters will be raffling off their 2011 group project: a queen size quilt made from a beautiful “scrappy” friendship star pattern complete with a hand-appliqued botanical border. Admission is Free. There will be refreshments, door prizes and demonstrations.
