Von Trapp concert

BETHEL — Elisabeth Von Trapp will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the United Methodist Church, 79 Main St.

Elisabeth is the granddaughter of Maria and Baron Von Trapp, whose story inspired “The Sound of Music.” Singing professionally since childhood, Elisabeth has enthralled audiences from European cathedrals to Washington D. C.’s Kennedy Center and hundreds of performance halls and churches across the United States.

A love offering will be taken. CDs will be on sale after the concert. All are welcome.

Harvest dinner

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo Middle School eighth grade class will hold a fall harvest dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the middle school.

The cost is $5 per person and includes chicken pie, vegetables, rolls, desserts and drinks. Proceeds benefit the class trip.

DIXFIELD — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting for the Dixfield, Peru and Canton community at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Ludden Memorial Library.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Fall festival

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo Middle School eighth grade class will hold a fall festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the school. The festival includes crafts, food, raffles, games, chili cook-off and apple sling shot.

Proceeds benefit the class trip.
