- Ella Brown of New Gloucester presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with the donations given at her 12th birthday party this summer The Saint Dominic’s Academy student asked for donations for the pets in lieu of gifts. Donations included food, treats, cat litter and toys for the shelter on Strawberry Avenue in Lewiston. The society provides a safe haven for more than 5,500 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area each year.
