Open house

BUCKFIELD — Evening Star Lodge #147 will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at 3 High St.

There will be refreshments and tours of the newly renovated building.

Applications will be available for those interested in becoming Masons.

Jumble, bake sale

PARIS — First Baptist Church will hold its third annual jumble and bake sale from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. A bag sale will be held at 11 a.m. until noon.

Church service

PARIS — Rev. Dr. Robert Sallies will be the worship leader on Sunday, Oct. 16, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. The music at the 10 a.m. service will be directed by Forest Perkins, church organist. The Sunday School will be lead by Renee Wales. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall.

World’s Fair workday

WATERFORD — Waterford World’s Fair will hold a workday and meeting on Sunday, Oct. 16, at the fairgrounds on Green Road in North Waterford. The workday will start at 10 a.m. and the workers will be treated to lunch at noon.

The fair meeting will be at 2 p.m. at the fairgrounds. All members and directors are encouraged to attend this meeting as well as anyone who is interested in becoming a member. Yearly dues are being collected.

BRYANT POND — The Whitman Memorial Library will present a program on bells by Matt Bevin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. The Bevin Bell Company provides the bells for the Salvation Army bell ringers. The program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.

The event was rescheduled from Oct. 11.

Food pantry

OTISFIELD — The Food Pantry will be open from from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121. The pantry is open the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10 a.m. to noon, and the second Monday evening of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 583-4780 or 627-4329.

PARIS — Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education will offer the following classes on Thursday, Oct. 20.

Basket weaving, with Bunny Pratt, 5-8:30 p.m. $35. Two more basket weaving classes will be offered Oct. 27  and Nov. 3. Sign up early.

Basic cell phone usage, with Mathew Clark, 6-7:30 p.m. $25.

Reiki basics for self-treatment, with Chris and Paula Easton, 6-8:30 p.m. $25.
