NORWAY — The First Universalist Church of Norway will present its annual Harvest Concert in the church sanctuary at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. The event will feature performances by the Norway UU Choir under the direction of Heather Pierson. Other performers will include Davy Sturtevant and Meant To Be.

Pierson is a veteran singer-songwriter and performer, currently promoting the release of her latest CD, “Make It Mine.” She has been the music director at the Norway UU Church since March 2003 and is the founder and host of the church’s popular open mic night, held on the last Friday of each month.

Sturtevant is a musician, composer and singer-songwriter currently residing in Sweden, Maine. He plays guitar, banjo and mandolin and has a repertoire that includes folk, jazz, blues, swing and old-time music. He has played roles in many recordings as artist, sideman, engineer and producer. His most recent solo CD, “Dis-Ease: A Coming Out,” is both an expression of his despair and affirmations of triumph over bi-polar disorder.

Meant To Be loves to sing together and they have been performing in public (with some member changes) since 2002. Merry Childs of Bryant Pond sings lead, Jan Ward of Norway sings tenor, Bonnie Fox of Lovell sings bass and Susan Leunig of East Hebron sings baritone. The vocal quartet mixes humor with harmony to deliver an entertaining package.

The church is located at 479 Main St. in Norway’s historic downtown. Donation is $5 at the door with proceeds to benefit the church’s belfry repair project. For more information, call 743-2828, email Heather at heather@heatherpierson.com or visit www.norwayuu.org.
