RANGELEY — A fall finale weekend of events on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22 and 23, will include a fashion show and auction on Saturday followed by a golf ball drop on Sunday, along with numerous other activities throughout the weekend. All proceeds will benefit Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County, an affiliate of Franklin Community Health Network.
The headliner fashion show and auction will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Saddleback Lodge. It will feature four seasons of sporting clothing modeled by local personalities and will be hosted by special guest Birdie Googins, also known as the Marden’s Lady.
Auction items will include seasonal gear such as fishing rods, hiking equipment, golf clubs, ski and snowmobile helmets and snowboards, as well as recreational apparel for all seasons.
Rangeley resident Jimmy Austin, local musician who plays the keyboard and at one time performed with pop group, Toto, will provide the music.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door.
Also happening earlier on Saturday will be guided hikes sponsored by Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust from noon to 4 p.m.; discounted bowling at Moose Alley from noon to 4 p.m.; free health screenings by Healthy Community Coalition in downtown Rangeley from noon to 3 p.m.; and the great golf challenge featuring longest drive and closest to the hole contests at Evergreen Golf Club from noon to 3 p.m.
The great golf ball drop via helicopter will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Evergreen Golf Club. Prizes will be awarded to the closest three golf balls to the hole: first, $300; second, $200; and third, $100. Ticket prices are one for $5; three for $10; and seven for $20.
Helicopter rides with Gene Hawkes will also be available from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Golf Club.
