- Monday night at Dirigo High School’s last home girls’ soccer game, seniors were presented with flowers and balloons from their parents. After the ceremony, the team gathered in the middle of the field and released balloons in honor of their classmate Dani Ranger, who was a junior. Ranger was involved in a car crash on Saturday and died from her injuries on Sunday. The team also wore shirts during warm up that said, “We play for Dani.” Ranger was a varsity field hockey player. The field hockey season for Dirigo ended last week. A candlelight vigil for Ranger is planned for Oct. 20 at the Dirigo High School gymnasium at 7 p.m.
