MEXICO — All service organizations seek effective ways to present their message. Churches and missions organizations are no exception. First Baptist Church will welcome three guests, each with their own perspective on Outreach Alternatives, on Oct. 29 and 30, at the church, 20 Roxbury Road.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, Susan Barrett, CrossWorld missionary to Germany, will speak on her publishing and literature ministry, as well as her personal participation with local German churches. Barrett has been a frequent and popular guest speaker at FBCM and other churches in Maine over the years.

At 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, Mexico native John Hosie will offer his perspectives on multiple aspects of missions outreach. After serving as a public school teacher here in Mexico, Hosie joined Africa Inland Missions, serving first as a full-time missionary to Africa, then as a financial disbursements manager at AIM’s Pearl River, N.Y., offices.

Rounding out the weekend, Sunday evening at 6 p.m. will feature Jim Cathcart from Police Officers for Christ, Intl. Cathcart will demonstrate law-enforcement training techniques, including proper use of hand-cuffs with a cooperative suspect. He’ll also explain how these training methods and assignments provide the foundation to minister the love of Christ to Third World law officers, many of whom have no formal police training.

With special music from various members of the FBCM Worship Team, including pianist Tim Blodgett, and promised surprises from the guest speakers, this looks to be an informative and edifying learning experience.

For more information, call the church at 364-8712 or email the FBCM Missions Chairman at rocklight1@roadrunner.com.
