NORWAY — Ruth M. Tibbetts, 102, formerly of the Auburn Road in Peru, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born in South Paris, Feb. 12, 1909, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Leonard) Crockett, and had attended schools in Woodstock and Greenwood.

For many years, Ruth had worked on the feeding machines for the E.L. Tibbett’s Co. in Locke Mills.

Ruth was a member of the Peru Baptist Church. Over the years, she enjoyed doing puzzles and spending time with her dog, “Jake.”

She was married in Bethel, March 11, 1929, to Vinton C. Tibbetts, who died April 11, 1987.

Survivors include daughters, Janice Miele of West Peru and Darla Robertson and husband, Kenneth Sr., of Rumford; son, Alfred C. Tibbetts and wife, Gloria Anne, of Milan, N.H.; sister Helen Farrar of Norway; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sons, Albert and James.
