Fair donations

RUMFORD — The Home Made for the Holidays Fair, to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Rumford United Methodist Church, 455 Linnell St., in seeking donations of craft supplies and jewelry for the festival.

Mary Pulsifer can be contacted at 562-7050 to donate patterns, magazines, notions, fabric, yarn, unfinished projects, etc.

Dee Holman is accepting jewelry donations. Drop-off times at the church are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 9, 10 and 11, between 9 a.m. and noon.

Harvest supper

DIXFIELD — The Dirigo High School Class of 2012 will hold the annual Fall Harvest Supper at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Student Community Center at Dirigo High School.

Cost is $5 per person and the meal will be served buffet style.

Benefits the Class of 2012 Project Graduation.

Library open house

MEXICO — Mexico Public Library will hold its Harvest Open House from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27.

Included at the open house will be and indoor book and video sale, sale of raffle tickets on gift baskets, and baked goods for sale. Free refreshments and beverages will be available from 3 to 6 p.m.

As part of the festivities, a Halloween Magic Show for kids, with Magician Conjuring Carroll, will take place at 4 p.m. at the Calvin Lyons Hall, adjacent to the library. Although not required, costumes are encouraged. Any child attending the show in costume will receive a small prize and also a chance to enter a drawing for a gift. At the conclusion of the magic show, all children are invited to stop by the library for a Halloween goodie bag to take home.

College workshops

BETHEL — Central Maine Community College’s Corporate and Community Service Department will promote their workforce education, customized training and professional development workshops at the Bethel Chamber of Commerce’s Business Expo to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Telstar High School.

CMCC will join business vendors from around the region in highlighting their products and services to the public and admission is free. The Expo will also feature a “Taste of Oxford County” with more than a dozen area restaurants showcasing their specialties/offerings from noon to 2 p.m.

Chicken pie

RUMFORD — The Rumford United Methodist Church will serve a chicken pie public supper on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Virgin Memorial Chapel on Linnell Street. The meal will consist of chicken pie, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, vegetable, rolls, hot or cold beverages, and a choice of lemon delight or chocolate delight for dessert. The cost is $7 per person. The doors will open at 4:30 and there will be one serving at 5 p.m.

Costume party

MEXICO — There will be a Halloween costume party at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, for the Sunday School children of the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC. There will be prizes for costumes, games and snacks.

Class of 1956

MEXICO — Stephens High School Class of 1956 will meet for lunch at noon Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Far East Restaurant. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

MEXICO — There will be a hunters breakfast from 4:30 to 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at King Hiram Masonic Lodge 57 on 795 River Road.

Legion craft, food sale

RUMFORD — The Ladies Auxiliary Unit 24 of the American Legion will hold its fourth annual craft and food sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.

There will be local crafters, unique gifts and a Chinese auction. Baked goods, chili, corn chowder, hot dogs, coffee and soda will be for sale.

Craft tables are available for $15 each or $10 with a donation for the Chinese auction.

Craft fair

RUMFORD — The Rumford Community Home will be holding their annual Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All proceeds go to the Rumford Community Home Residents Activity Fund.

Seniors meeting

LOCKE MILLS — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Locke Mills Legion Hall. The price for dinner is $10 for members and $12 for nonmembers.
