JAY — A foreign film series began Oct. 5 at Jay-Niles Memorial Library. The series will run through Oct. 24, 2012. The next film will be “Children of Heaven” from Iran at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Tamara Hoke, library director, has devised a schedule of foreign film offerings for the public. Hoke said, “Film is a great medium to use to introduce the community to different cultures in which they may not be familiar.”
The remaining films and dates are as follows: “Tsotsi,” South Africa, Dec. 7; “Three Seasons,” Vietnam, Jan. 11; “Twin Sisters,” Netherlands, Feb. 15; “Kolya,” Czech, March 21; “Cinema Paradiso,” Italy, April 25; “Biutiful,” Spain, May 30; “Departures,” Japan, July 11; “Machuca,” Chile, Aug. 15; “Water,” India, Sept. 12; “Amelie,” France, Oct. 24. All programs start at 6 p.m.
