Theater for kids

BRUNSWICK — The Theater Project will hold theater classes for kids of all ages. The fall session begins with two classes, which in a new twist for the Theater Project will end by taking part in the Theater Project’s upcoming holiday production, “Miracles on School Street.”

The first of the classes is “Wombat Divine,” for actors in grades 3, 4 and 5, and runs Nov. 1 through Dec. 18. Class is on Tuesdays from 4 to 5 p.m., with a fee of $75.

The second class, “The Elf Rebellion,” is for actors in grades 6-8. Class starts Nov. 2 and runs Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. through Dec. 18. The fee is $200.

“Miracles on School Street,” the production both of these classes will be performing in, will run Dec. 9-18, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2 p.m.

‘Food for Fines’

LISBON — The Lisbon Library Department and the Lisbon Area Christian Outreach organization will work together throughout the month of November to bring nonperishable food and household items to the community’s food bank. As part of the “Food for Fines” program, the library will waive $2 of overdue fines for each item and/or cash donation that patrons bring in from Nov. 1-30. Call 353-6564 for more information.

MECHANIC FALLS — Girl Scouts of Maine will host the following parent information and registration meetings in the area: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Minot Consolidated School library, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Poland Community School.

Girls and adults are invited to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

TURNER — Girl Scouts of Maine will host parent information and registration meetings at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Turner Primary School, and at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Leeds Central School.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best.
