- Dixfield Fire Capt. Jason Hyde plays a game of hangman with the Dirigo Elementary School kindergarten class on Thursday as part of the department’s fire prevention program. Dixfield Fire Co., along with students from the Western Foothills Junior Firefighter program, has spent the month visiting schools and daycare centers with Smokey the Bear teaching children the importance of fire safety.
