POLAND — Theodore Howard Ireland passed away peacefully Oct. 27 at his home.

He was born in Guilford, the family soon moving to Portland. He graduated from Portland High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1960s.Before retiring, he had worked for Bradlee’s and TD Bank, both in Lewiston. He was one of 12 children, born to the late Hadley Ireland and Flora Nickerson Ireland, and was the beloved husband of the late Jeannette Winslow Ireland for more than 24 years.

He loved listening to spiritual music, laughing, being with his family, having fun with friends. He attended Mechanic Falls Church of the Nazarene, serving as a board member. He attended numerous prayer summits and regional conferences. Being a faithful servant of his Lord, he was kind to all and served many through his efforts as a volunteer at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was greatly concerned about others and was always helpful and caring of all who crossed his path.

Ted will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers, Paul and wife, Pat, and Vernon; as well as loving sister, Charlene Ireland; and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by beloved stepchildren, Melody Stevens and husband, Mark Weinberg, Neil Winslow and wife, Joanne, and Sharon Greaton; treasured grandchildren, Leigh and Brian Stevens, Jenna Berry, Jake and Matthew Winslow, Jason Renchy, Duane and Darin Greaton; 11 great-grandchildren; along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Edwin, Joseph, Benjamin and Irvin; sisters, Eloise Nelson, Lilla Fruman and Marilyn Ireland.
