Geneology speaker
FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, MGS, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Farmington Public Library, when the speaker will be Bob Chenard from the Taconnett Falls Chapter, MGS.
Chenard has compiled a data base of more than 119,000 birth and death records of Beauce County, Quebec. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.
Keep warm suppers
FAYETTE — The Keep Me Warm suppers, which will help local families with heating assistance, will begin Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Fayette Central School. A potluck supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and there will be raffles and music. Those who can make something or can help are asked to call Elaine Wilcox at 685-3886.
Tag sale tables
SALEM — A tag sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Mt. Abram High School. Tables are available for $10. Call to reserve a space at 678-2959 or 678-2091. The event is sponsored by the Salem Volunteer Fire Association.
A spaghetti supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Mt. Abram High School. Cost will be adults, $7; senior citizens, $4; kids 6 to 12, $3; families, $17; kids under 6, free. It is also being sponsored by the Salem Volunteer Fire Association.
Looking for PJs
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Rotary and the Children’s Task Force are collecting pajamas for children of Franklin County.
After collection is made, the pajamas will be delivered to the Pierce House where the women will wrap the pajamas. The pajamas will then be dropped off at Western Maine Community Action where they will be taken to Operation Santa Claus.
Sizes ranging anywhere from infancy to age 18 are needed from now until Nov. 30. Monetary donations are also welcome to help the task force purchase sizes that are missing before final drop-off. Call 778-6960 with questions.
