Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant of Rumford casts a ballot on Tuesday under the watchful eyes of Rumford ballot clerk Dot Benedix. Rumford Selectmen Chairman Greg Buccina said more than 1,000 residents had voted by 3:45 p.m. when Gallant arrived. “It’s been steady all day,” Buccina said of the turnout. Rumford has 4,500 registered voters, 10 of whom registered on Tuesday, Town Clerk Beth Bellegarde said.
