JAY — Veterans will lay one wreath in each of the towns of Fayette, Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls to remember and honor all veterans on Veterans Day.

In addition, a wreath will be dropped from the Memorial Bridge between Livermore and Livermore Falls into the Androscoggin River in honor and memory of those who served or were lost at sea, Veterans Day organizer Don Simoneau said.

Members of the American Legion Post 10 of Livermore Falls, VFW Post 3335 and AmVets Post 33, both in Jay, and their Auxiliaries will gather Friday, Nov. 11, “to remember and honor all veterans past and present and the sacrifice they gave for all of us so we can enjoy the freedoms we all enjoy in this great nation,” Simoneau said.

There will be a slight change to the services with a wreath being laid at the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Monument on Riley Road in Jay, instead of the Jay World War II Monument on Route 4 in Chisholm. The change is due to construction on Route 4, he said.

The times of the services are: 9:45 a.m. Livermore Falls Memorial Bridge; 10 a.m. Brettuns Memorial in Livermore; 10:40 a.m. Geneva Hodgkins Memorial Park in Livermore Falls; 11 a.m. Fayette Memorial; and 1 p.m. Veterans Day Program at Walmart in Farmington.
