LEWISTON — The Pentecostal Kid’s Church the Jesus Party will hold a special gathering at Jesus Party Headquarters, 291 Bates St., at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.
Ministry directors Rev. Douglas and Sonia Taylor will hold an open house to raise funds for the Salvation Army’s 2011 Red Kettle Campaign. The campaign enables the Army to provide food, toys and clothing to more than 6 million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recovering from all kinds of personal disasters nationwide.
Special guests in attendance will be lieutenants Jason and Jennifer Brake from the local Salvation Army on Park Street. The Brakes will speak about the ministry of compassion through good works and kind deeds. The children in attendance will be treated to a 30-minute animated film, “The William Booth Story.” The film was produced by Torchlighters Heroes Of The Faith, with the purpose of introducing children to the beginning of the Salvation Army and who its founder William Booth was.
This will be an evening of unique evangelistic ministry through music and testimonies that will be shared by special guests the Lacasse family from the Pentecostals of Vacaville, Calif. Danielle Lacasse, one of the Taylors’ daughters, was the Jesus Party piano player for several years before moving to the west coast to start a family of her own.
Everyone attending should bring a monetary love offering to help with the fundraising attempt.
