FARMINGTON — Two babies were born in Maine at 11:11 on 11/11/11.

At Goodall Hospital in Sanford at 11:11 a.m.

And exactly 12 hours later at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. Baby Lalya Bridges had been due Nov. 14. She was a little early.

“It was pretty crazy,” said mom Christy Reeve, 28, of Livermore Falls. “We laughed and joked about it when we got to the hospital: ‘Oh, she’ll be born on 11/11. Then it came time to deliver, we were laughing and I said, ‘Oh, I have 6 minutes (until 11:11 p.m.).'”

Layla weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long. She has an older brother who is 4. Her father is Ryan Nuzzo.

Will her 11:11 p.m. 11/11/11 birth mean Layla’s life will be a lucky one?

“Well, I think so, but she would have been that, anyway,” Reeve said. “But she definitely has one of the coolest birthdays.”
