BETHEL — Hundreds of mostly handmade, one-of-a-kind items from 40 crafters and producers of local products will be sold Friday, Nov. 25, during the Local Wares and Crafts Fair.
On what is traditionally the busiest shopping day before Christmas, Bethel kicks off its Country Christmas Celebration with the 15th annual fair. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bethel Inn Conference Center off Main Street behind Northeast Bank.
“As the upcoming shopping frenzy approaches, it is a good time to take stock of what is important to our local economies and to the tradition of the handcraft produced by mostly home-based entrepreneurs,” Robin Zinchuk, executive director of the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce, said Friday in a report.
Among the products are handmade baskets, paintings, photography, knit items, handmade jewelry, jams, jellies, pickles, soaps, lotions, quilted items and wooden ware products.
They are “perfect for giving in any season,” Zinchuk said.
There will also be free horse-drawn wagon rides offered from 2 to 4 p.m. through Bethel village. Riders are asked to gather in front of the Bethel Library on the town common.
