Family programs

PARIS — The Families in Crisis Task Force will offer Christmas programs to Oxford County residents.

Sign-up for parents with children 12 years old and younger for Christmas gifts will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov. 17 and Dec. 1. The pick-up date for these gifts will be Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon.

For children 13 years and older, the sign up date is Friday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. This day will also be for grandparents, absent parents and other caregivers to receive gifts for all ages.

The office is located at 659 Park St., Route 26, three miles north of Market Square rotary.

Donations of gifts for teens and volunteers are welcome. Call Peggy at 357-7072.

“Sleepy Hollow”

PARIS — “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” adapted by Claudia Hass, will be performed by the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Drama Club on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 17 and 18, at 6:30 pm in the school auditorium. The cost is $7 per person.

Finnish society

WEST PARIS — The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.

Following a brief business meeting, a coffee social will be held as Tooty Wilson presents a program called “Finnish Pursuits.” The library, gift shop and museum will be open.

The public is invited.

Library Thanksgiving

PARIS — The Paris Public Children’s Library will host a Thanksgiving celebration with a Thanksgiving story, Thanksgiving popcorn bingo and a selection of seasonal learning worksheets and crafts to choose from at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22. This special event is geared for school-aged children and their families and friends.

Free dinner

NORWAY — A free Thanksgiving Day dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, at the Masonic Lodge. The dinner is held in memory of Kenneth W. Verrill.
