- On Oct. 8, Florence Lamare of Lewiston presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with the donations from her 86th birthday party. Lamare asked her family for donations for the pets in lieu of birthday gifts, raising $100 for the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the Humane Society helps each year. The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is at 55 Strawberry Ave, Lewiston. Pictured with Lemare is Shelter Operations Manager Zachary Black.
