JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose de Lima held their monthly business meeting on Nov. 9. Chancellor Laurianne Castonguay led the group in the restoration of the rosary. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Regent Denise Rodzen.
Recording Secretary Olive Couture read the roll call followed by the reading of the minutes from October’s business meeting. There were no applications for new membership or transfers.
Rodzen read letters she received from Christiane Chagnon, international regent. She also read a letter she received from Rachel Ducharme, international vice regent, as well as a letter received from Beverly Voigt, international director, USA co-chairwoman of the Respect Life Committee. There was also a letter from Mary Jo Ballenger, international director and co-chairwoman of the Youth Committee. There was also a letter received about recruitment/expectations.
Dorothy Morgan, vice regent, sent get-well cards to Jeanne Williams, Dot Wilson and Pauline Brochu; she also sent a sympathy card to Kim Couture for the loss of her mother, Helen Heintz Hosfeld.
Rodzen told the group about a women’s retreat that will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. All ladies attending will be able to celebrate a mass with Bishop Malone.
New business was a letter received from Anne Sawyer.
The group’s Christmas party will be Dec. 7 at the Jay VFW. Call Shirley Couture or Laurianne Castonguay to let them know you will be going and what you would like to have. Social hour will be 5 to 6 p.m. and supper will be at 6. After supper there will be the exchanging of gifts and those who had a mystery sister for the year will find out who she is.
