BRUNSWICK — A Portland woman was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with operating under the influence following a single-vehicle crash that knocked out power to the area.

The Brunswick Police Department reported Sunday morning that Kaitlynn Gatchell, 23, of Portland, was charged with operating under the influence. Gatchell crashed her car into a utility pole on Pleasant Street in Brunswick at about 2:50 a.m.

According to police, the road was closed to all traffic until 6 a.m. Sunday so utility crews from Cental Maine Power and local cable providers could assess the damage. The road remained narrowed down to one lane until Sunday afternoon, when crews completed repairs.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
